Atri Baruah

Atri Baruah, Research Officer at Brahmaputra Institute of Research and Development (BIRD), is pursuing her Ph.D in the Department of Political Science, Gauhati University on the theme Politics of Resistance: A Study of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, Assam. She had done her undergraduate studies (2010) from Handique Girls’ Collage, Guwahati and Masters in Political Science (2012) from Gauhati University. Subsequently she also obtained masters degree in Sociology (2016) from Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Guwahati, Assam. She has participated in a numbers of National Seminars / Symposiums / Workshops and presented research papers on various issues relating to development studies, livelihood security, community rights over natural resources and ethnic identity etc.

At BIRD, Ms. Baruah is presently associated with two research projects: ‘Century of Assam Budgets’ and ‘Century of Legislative Politics in Assam’.
